1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DOPC)

DOPC (1,2-Dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine), a kind of phosphatidylcholine (36:2), is a neutral helper phospholipid which can be used in gene and drug delivery liposomal formulations. DOPC has been proven to promote more stable laminar structures. The helper lipids have been shown to improve the transfection efficiency in a variety of cell types when used in combination with charged lipids. At the same time, as an unsaturated phospholipid, DOPC can be applied to the preparation of liposomes and planar supported membranes.
