Applications:Cobalt(II) Chloride is used on the research studies on the growth and metabolism of cancer cells. Cobalt(II) Chloride blocks the oxygen signal transduction system and oxygen binding so that the oxygen content of cells is decreased, causing expression of (hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1)), which stimulates or inhibits apoptosis under hypoxia.
