Applications:Coptisine is an alkaloid found in Chinese goldthread (Coptis chinensis). A bacterial collagenase inhibitor. Coptisine has been found to reversibly inhibit Monoamine oxidase A in mice, pointing to a potential role as a natural antidepressant.
