Applications:Cy 5 is a related compound of CY5 (C951310), a photoswitchable cyanine dye. The photoswitching mechanism was investigated using thiol agents and it was concluded that photoconversion into the dark state is pH and thiol dependent and the dark state product is a cyanine-thiol adduct.
