Applications:8-Aminoadenine is used in the synthetic preparation of purine derivatives as competitive inhibitors of human erythrocyte membrane phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase. It can also be useful in label-​free biosensing of RNA, and in the study of structure-activity relationships of adenine and deazaadenine derivatives as ligands for adenine receptors.
