Chemical Name:Methyl 2-((2-Hydroxyethoxy)methyl)-6-(trifluoromethyl)nicotinate
Synonyms:Bicyclopyrone Metabolite CSCD686480
Molecular Formula:C₁₁H₁₂F₃NO₄
Molecular Weight:279.22
Category:Standards; Environmental Standards, Mutagens and Metabolites; Pesticides;
Applications:Methyl 2-((2-Hydroxyethoxy)methyl)-6-(trifluoromethyl)nicotinate is a metabolite of Bicyclopyrone (B382100(M)), which belongs to the hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD) inhibitor class of herbicides. It acts by blocking the function of HPPD required for producing essential compounds for carotenoid pigments. Without carotenoid pigments, the plant bleaches and eventually dies.
