Applications:Ethyl 2-(3-methoxybenzyl)butanoate is an intermediate in the synthesis of cis-5,11-Diethyl-5,6,11,12-tetrahydro-2,8-chrysenediol (D445070), a fluorescent and selective ligand that can be used to investigate the interactions between ligand and receptor of estrogen receptors (ERs) (1,2,3). cis-5,11-Diethyl-5,6,11,12-tetrahydro-2,8-chrysenediol is an ERα agonist and an ERβ antagonist.
