Applications:20α-Acetoxy-4-pregnen-3-one (Progesterone EP Impurity D) is an impurity of Progesterone (P755900), a steroid hormone that is readily secreted by the corpus luteum. 20α-Acetoxy-4-pregnen-3-one is also an intermediate that undergoes selective oxidation for the synthesis of testosterone (T155000) and of 4-pregnen-20β-ol-3-one.
