Applications:1,​3-​Dioxolan-​2-​one-​2,​4,​5-​13C3 is a labelled form of 1,3-Dioxolan-2-one (D486525), which is an ester of ethylene glycol and carbonic acid. 1,3-Dioxolan-2-one is used as a polar solvent with a molecular dipole moment of 4.9 D, only 0.1 D lower than that of propylene carbonate. It can be used as a high permittivity component of electrolytes in lithium batteries.1,​3-​Dioxolan-​2-​one-​2,​4,​5-​13C3 can be used for the solid electrolyte interphase growth and capacity loss in silicon electrodes.
