Applications:5-(Hydroxymethyl)-2′,3′-O-(1-methylethylidene)cytidine is used in the synthesis of tRNA’s anticodon stem and loop domain containing the 5-formylcytidine modification. Also, it is an intermediate used in the synthesis of 5-Formylcytidine (F698965), which is a modified nucleoside found at the first position of the anticodon of bovine mitochondrial tRNAMet.
