Applications:N-(6-Amino-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-2,4-dioxo-1,3-dipropyl-5-pyrimidinyl)cyclopentanecarboxamide is an intermediate in the synthesis of 8-Cyclopentyl-1,3-dipropylxanthine (C988500), a potent and very selective A1-adenosine receptor antagonist, with a Ki of 0.46 nM for A1 receptors in rat whole-brain membranes. Its 740-fold A1-selectivity is the highest reported for an adenosine antagonist.
