Applications:L-alloisoleucine is a stereo-isomer of L-isoleucine (I820175) and is produced as a byproduct of isoleucine via transamination.  L-allo-isoleucine has been suggested to induce epithelial b-defensin expression. In addition, L-allo-isoleucine is utilized in the biosynthesis pathway for coronamic acid.
