Applications:(1R,2S,4R)-4-Amino-2-hydroxy-cyclopentanemethanol Hydrochloride can be used as a reagent/reactant for stereoselective synthesis and antiviral activity of carbocyclic nucleoside analog of pentylphenylfuropyrimidine deoxyribose via stereoselective hydroboration, heterocyclization and Sonogashira coupling from Vince lactam (1). (1R,2S,4R)-4-Amino-2-hydroxy-cyclopentanemethanol Hydrochloride can also be obtained from (1R)-(-)-2-Azabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-en-3-one (A795205) which is an Abacavir intermediate used in the synthesis of carbocyclic sugar amines, carbanucleosides, and carbocyclic dinucleotide analogues (2).
