Applications:6-Chloro-4-methylumbelliferyl-β-xyloside is a fluorogenic substrate for the ß-glucosidase assay. This assay monitors the hydrolysis of glycosidic bond by ß-glucosidase and its enzymatic activity has clinic applications for investigating Gaucher’s disease. In addition, novel fluorogenic substrates may find utility in high-throughput and sensitive detection applications such as metagenomic screening.
