Applications:7-Acetoxy-1-methylquinolinium iodide is a fluorogenic substrate for cholinesterase. Non-fluorescent 7-acetoxy-1-methyl quinolinium iodide is hydrolysed to the highly fluorescent 7-hydroxy-1-methyl quinolinium iodide.
